In the Bee Garden

$69.00

While hiking across northern England on the Coast to Coast Walk I stayed in the amazing Feversham Arms in the sweet tiny village of Church Houses, Farndale, Yorkshire. As I explored their garden, I created this plein air painting.

I felt as if I became the solid Yorkshire stone, and the timbers of the raised bed, and the beautiful flowers within.

This painting gives me such joy to look at. I hope it does the same for you!

Pastel on wonderful Lacarte pastel paper, 4 x 6″.

Description

While hiking across northern England on the Coast to Coast Walk I stayed in the amazing Feversham Arms in the sweet tiny village of Church Houses, Farndale, Yorkshire.
As a guest I was invited to visit the “bee garden”… When I went out to this beautiful garden, there were wooden sculptures and these lovely raised beds.
I also discovered that what I’d thought was a bee garden was in fact the inn’s Beer Garden! My North American ears had heard “beer” as “bee.”
I chuckled, and then sat down to paint.

I felt as if I became the solid Yorkshire stone, and the timbers of the raised bed, and the beautiful flowers within.

This painting gives me such joy to look at. I hope it does the same for you!

Pastel on wonderful Lacarte pastel paper, 4 x 6″.
