Description
One of my favorite things about being on retreat in Laxe, Spain, was the people. On the day I painted this, I met a woman in the village named Gloria, who was in town to look after her 100-year-old Mom.
Gloria and I had very little language in common and yet we connected. She brought me to a place in the hills high above town that she thought I needed to see: The Chapel of Santa Rosa de Lima.
I stayed, and painted this, and felt so grateful for this human who took time out of her day to be my guide.
